A Thriving Industrial State

  • Gujarat has exhibited a 12.5% high industrial growth rate from 2002-2007. In India’s 10th Five Year Plan and has achieved a GDP growth of 10.2% as per the set target, which was the highest amongst all States in India.
  • Gujarat contributes significantly to India’s economy across key sectors including production of Soda Ash, Diamond Processing, Salt, Petroleum products, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals
  • With 6% of India’s geographical area, the State is home to 41 ports and handles around 25 % of the country’s sea-cargo.
  • Gujarat accounts for 15.14% (USD 114.52 bn) of the total investments (IEM+LOI+DLI) in India; highest amongst all States in India
  • Contributes 16% of the total national industrial production and accounts for 19% of India’s cargo
